The challenge
Underground equipment uses a CAN interface while surface control uses PROFINET. Different interfaces require reliable protocol conversion and operational data exchange.

The approach
Use an industrial protocol gateway to connect the CAN controller and PROFINET control system. Integrate with the site network to exchange underground and surface data while retaining the existing control structure.
